This product has been in use for over a year. great product but the D-Link support sucks! after I received and installed it (installation was easy for me btw, direction was accurate) but my phone line was interfering with the signals and when I got a call I lost connection. So I called d-link support to ask for suggestions. The first line of support was the default replies about changing channels, etc., which didn't help much. So they turned me over to their tech support and the nerves of the guy who took the call. He just told me not to use the phone. I was so angry that if this guy was in front of me I would actually give him my opinion. I told him if you knew there would be an issue like this (especially since he had a ready answer) why not post this as a known issue of their product on their website. I also asked him how he would react if he asked for support for another product and received such a response. However, after thanking him for NOTHING and saying I would return the product (he didn't care if I returned it or not), I hung up. Anyway, I calmed down and started looking at the settings and various options and get a channel or download the latest software (I don't remember exactly what I did) but it worked for me. Since then I haven't had any major problems with it. Please note that I'm a software professional so I'm knowledgeable about installing software and hardware as building software is my job. I recently moved into a large 2 story house and have a router on the top floor. I am currently connected to it one floor down and it shows full signal. I activated the "Booster" option. I don't remember the right option, but I'm sure you can find it in the settings. It should be noted that when the router is restarted, all settings such as MAC filters etc. are lost and become available to everyone. something that might be obvious to others but I missed it and noticed it when I looked through the logs and noticed that many of my neighbors are using my router. someone accidentally or intentionally even changed some of my settings because even the admin password was reset to default values. Update - December 2008 A few months ago I had a problem when I dropped my router. All the lights were on right now and the router wasn't working. I've tried all options, restarted etc. but nothing helped. So I removed the connections and connected my computer directly to my modem and I lost my wireless connection and started looking for a new router. But luckily I forgot to completely remove the router and it stayed on. After a month or two I noticed that the lights were flickering. So I wondered if it was starting to work. and I plugged it back in and tried to connect and surprisingly everything was back to normal :-). It's been 3-4 months since then and it's still working.
