Review on Phanteks PH VGPUKT_02 Universal Vertical Pci by Chris Drury

The reason I deduct 2 stars is because the metal is very thin. You can practically bend it with your hands with very little effort. I installed my GPU, had it grab the screws and screwdriver and just couldn't support it. The tip of my GPU actually went down and touched the fan below and bent the bottom of the GPU bracket. I bought a Cable Mod and a Cooler Master to see which one I like best. The cable mod vertical GPU kit had the best build quality, Cooler Master came second and it was the worst of the three. Second, I couldn't fit it into my dynamic O11 without having to cut a piece of metal, sliding through the PCIE slots is easier. During installation I scratched my new case a bit. Luckily he's out of sight so I can't see him. I chose to keep this one of the three because the compatibility was the best. I was able to keep all my fans on the O11 speaker while still achieving the aesthetic I was aiming for. The harness will not fit unless I remove all 3 bottom fans. The main cooler bracket brings my GPU further into the motherboard causing compatibility issues. My GPU can't be installed because it's too tall and may have clearance issues with my RAM. In summary, this is a good product that meets my needs. The included vertical cable seems very durable and performs very well, and I haven't noticed any FPS drops or screen flickering. I recommend this to anyone who wants to save some money while still meeting their aesthetic goals. This could easily have been a 5 star rating if only the build quality was beefier/sturdier and if I didn't have to modify it a bit just to make it easier to fit into PCIE slots.
