This is a hefty little tool that has been very well designed. The picture of the product made me think I was getting a rather large, bulky tool to hold circuit boards before soldering. But I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as big as I thought it would be. Although small, it has enough weight to carry everything you need. After receiving it and just looking at it, I was trying to understand how it actually works. As soon as I unscrewed the lid and saw him holding the boards, all I could think of was the word genius. I've used all types of holding tools, from spring-loaded ones that clamp onto the ends of the PCB, to simple "helping hand" type tools. It removes all imperfections and packs them into one simple yet powerful tool. Now it's much easier to hold odd shaped boards that were just impractical in most other holders. You can even pair it with another Omnivise if you need more support for much larger boards. It has settings to raise the board but I rarely need it. It also keeps the board low enough for me to view under a microscope for inspection. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if needed. Highly recommended!
