Upgrade to lithium in my RV. Bought so I wouldn't have to change and burn out the alternator. The idea is to limit the generator consumption to 30A when the battery is filled to 550Ah. It works fine with my BMS. He's warming up. Not just a little, but HOT, HOT. Reading the Victron websites, everyone complains about how warm it gets. The only feedback from the manufacturer is that it needs to be installed properly. OK. 10 cm free above and below? Good luck finding extra space in your RV. Thanks Victron, it looks like you misjudged the airflow requirements, especially in the desert. (And that's just the spring!) I expect that in many applications they will have a short lifespan due to thermal stresses leading to failure. Good thing it works properly with the fan. I designed the air manifold and printed it out on my 3D printer. It's black on black in the picture so it's a little hard to see, but look under the device. Installed a small 2 inch fan pushing the 6CFM through the fins. It only draws 0.14 A and the block is no longer heated. It doesn't seem to need that much airflow, but convective airflow doesn't seem to be enough in both my and others' experience. The heatsink is large, they tried to size it to handle the heat load, but without airflow it's useless. I'm glad they made the investment as the small fan works really well with the large heatsink. , but the app needs more features. It reports state of charge, voltage and current. It should also report the temperature. The link programming makes sense and is clear. I see where people without a smartphone/who want to use technology will find more information. It would be nice if Victron had an output to control a relay based on either temperature or output current.
