Don't over tighten the screws and make sure they go straight in.

I've seen some bad reviews about it but one has been in my truck for over 10 years with no problems. I got this to mount on another truck that I drive daily. Some say it is unsustainable. It's plastic and a display piece only. When you slow down. It's probably something you did. Simply screw on an appropriately sized receiver. Just tighten the screws. Plug in, plug in and enjoy.
