I had no service history on this car because we bought it with 138,000 miles for my mother-in-law who overcharged her Oldsmobile 05 (not her fault). We knew it wouldn't last much longer, maybe a year, so we didn't want to invest a lot of money in a newer model. It transmitted misfire code 301 (cylinder 1) at 148,000 miles. The car ran smooth up to this point so I was amazed to find OE spark plugs in the engine. Your gaps were huge! I put new spark plugs in and expected the problem to be fixed, but unfortunately nothing works the first time in my world! Further diagnostics revealed that the coil pack was to blame. I bought the cheapest with good reviews. The Standard Motor Products FD-498T ($34) nailed it. It arrived two days later (no less than Sunday); perfectly packed; identical in weight and shape to the original. I put it on in 10 minutes; very simple work that anyone can do. Just mark the location of the wires before removing the old coil pack. The car has never been better. Gasoline mileage increased by 3-4 mpg. I would still change the spark plugs!
