Review on πŸ”Š NAD PP-2e Phono Preamp by Brenda Finlinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

NAD does it well and cheaply.

Somehow it sounds muffled on my B&O MMC2 module, I even tried it with a new old MMC1, same problem. However, the same two cassettes work great on the MM setting and sound great. The ONLY thing I don't like about this unit is that there is a power button on the front, it's an instant connect button and you press it to draw attention to the circuit and it turns the unit on. It will turn off automatically when there is no signal, but will not turn on automatically. Every time you use your phono stage, you have to turn it on by pressing the instant connect button on the front panel, which should have just been an on/off button. As annoying as it is, the unit sounds clean and there was little to no noise when aiming, unlike other cheaper units I've tested electronically. So I am very satisfied with the device, its frequency response is very wide and the output signal is very clean. without any audible noise. Definitely worth the money, especially if you're building a beginner stereo and value build quality, sound clarity and range.
