Generally worked well with very dark browns through reddish brown to tan. The hard wax filler can be difficult to get into the holes but I used an Xacto knife to cut off some pieces, worked with my fingers and then inserted into the hole. Sometimes I've just scraped the corner of the stick along the hole, as is usually recommended, but I've found it creates more waste, requires more cleaning, and takes longer than just cutting off a bit and sticking it in the hole. The white polishing pad is fast so I bought non-scratch pads and they worked great. All in all I would buy it again.
