When I first started using the bag, the first thing I noticed was that it wouldn't hold in place. I filled the base with water, put 60lb dumbbells in the bag and it still bounces every time I hit it. This makes it too loud for indoor/upstairs use. I have to carry it to the tiny gym at my apartment. After a few uses I noticed that there was water on the floor under the base. The carpet I put it on at night got wet in the morning. I thought there was a small leak but didn't want to pack everything up and send it back so I used some caulk and it was fixed in the morning. It was disappointing and if the leak had been bigger I would have sent it back immediately. But I was having fun and didn't want to stop. The next thing I found after a few more uses was how it cut into my joint with every session. The plastic that attaches the bag to the bar isn't sharp, but if you hit it hard enough it'll knock a chunk out of your knuckles. And almost every time I use it, I get a cut in the same place, so the wound never fully heals. After a while it becomes painful. All my clothes, gym and bag are covered in blood. This is very annoying. The gloves they provide are comfortable and fit well, but they are cropped and do not protect your joints. I don't have a full pair of gloves and prefer to use MMA gloves but they aren't worth cutting as often. I think I'll have to shell out for a set. I've continued to use it a few times a week and despite the flaws I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's really only limited by your imagination. I put it on the fastest setting and it really challenges your speed and timing. If you put it on the slow setting, it reclines far enough to work on notes. It's a great tool for your repertoire and it's fun, which is why I was so disappointed with what happened next. After 8 months of regular use, the small screw that attaches the bar to the base broke! And then it was all over. A screw in a rod broke off and won't come out. The screw and the lower pole must be replaced. If the screw had been bigger I don't think it would have broken, at least not much later. This is a serious design flaw that maxxmma should and can easily fix. I've tried emailing MAXMMA 3 or 4 times with no response. So I went through the reviews and found that some other people were having the same issues and in the comments there was a response from the dealer asking them to send a photo of the broken part and they will replace it. So I just called the number provided and what do you know they said they would send the parts straight away. I MUST get it in a few days as the store is a few hours from where I live. I will update this when I receive it. In summary, this is a very fun device that is worth every penny. The times I have enjoyed far outweigh the negatives I have listed. There are a few things they need to fix in the design, but if they get it right they should be as good as some of the more expensive Cobra bags afterwards.
