Review on 25430 SmartAir Automatic Leveling System by Daniel Morris

I installed this system on my 2011 F250 about 2 months ago. It was difficult to install judging by the instructions which were a bit difficult to understand. It doesn't help that the instructions aren't vehicle specific and there are no vehicle specific installation videos. In total it took us both 16 hours to install it, including making custom mounting brackets for the sensor. Performance after installation is exactly as advertised. However, we had a problem on our last trip. The sensor magnet is attached to the leaf springs next to the axle with a U-bolt. Somehow the entire magnet and mount disappeared while driving. We noticed that one of the compressors has not shut down for more than a minute. AirLift was very willing to send us warranty replacement parts but they had no idea what happened or why. It took another 4 hours of my time to reassemble the parts and custom build a stronger bracket. Moral of the story: generic design means bad design for some applications. Securely attach this product and it works fine. Finally, check the magnets frequently to make sure they aren't moving, as the nylon lock nuts didn't stop them from vibrating where I installed them. Overall I like the product and would recommend it. But. It is not that easy to attach and operate even for a fairly experienced mechanic.
