I have an old 3rd gen iPad that is cracked, slow and unable to update, but I am determined to use it until it breaks. Honestly I thought it was going to run out soon because it wouldn't charge even when plugged in. The original cable is clearly old so I thought I'd make one last attempt to restore it with a new cable. And that little string brought him back to life! I wouldn't spend a lot of money on an original Apple cable if it didn't work, so this was a good choice given the circumstances. Can't say anything about durability yet, but so far it's working like clockwork. Even if it wasn't years ago, I would buy it again because of the price.
