My new favorite plug!

I have tried many connectors lately from Anderson Powerpole to Marinco 3 blade swivel male/female, Noco Genius 2 pin connector and of course the popular 2 pin SAE spade connector (which seems No two vendors produce identical and fully compatible versions). What I was looking for was a durable connector for use between solar panels and "solar generators" (a fancy term for portable battery packs). I needed something that would protect the hot wire from accidental contact, be weatherproof, have adequate strain relief, and not require special crimping tools. They come with weatherproof lids. Connection to your cable is via a crimp butt connector that comes with heat shrink tubing. The wires from the plug to the butt connector are tinned copper wire with a 105C insulator. The crimp is done correctly although I would have preferred to use a crimp with no knockouts as this will result in a small hole in the heat shrink tubing. I have a box full of plugs/sockets that I tried to use for this project that were rejected for one reason or another (not weatherproof, exposed cables, poor design, size mismatch, poor workmanship, no strain relief). About $200 wasted money and time. I also have a box full of these Trac connectors - until someone finds something better I'm keeping a box full of Trac connectors. The other goes in the trash where it belongs.
