Quality power connector

Bought a set of connectors for a 50A trolling motor. The plug seems to be very well made with high quality materials. I soldered (and recommend) any butt connectors you use to attach wires to the short wires to avoid high resistance or oxidation of the connections. I think this will work very well for my application. I highly recommend this product.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Needs work: outboard motors

Looks like quality materials, good connection. The locking mechanism in the mount isn't very strong; when connected to the base, the end connector will be pushed by the bracket and fall out. (only used in vertical position but imagine doing the same in horizontal position) Used superglue in the bracket and around the connector, no problems after that. Contacted support and arranged partial refund. For the price compared to others, no need to use glue.

Pros
  • Brings joy

Easy connection - trolling motors

They are well designed and constructed. We have a small Minn Kota (Riptide 45) powered by a LiFePO4 battery in a plastic ammo box modified to accommodate the battery. The round fasteners included as part of the coupler kit are strong and securely fastened to the side of the box (although getting the stainless steel safety tether for the lid back in place after installation is a challenge). Crimp connectors plus heavy shrink tubing are already in place - great. (But it would be helpful to getโ€ฆ

Decent except for the caps

They are a handy size for easy connection/disconnection of cables e.g. B. a trolling motor. However, the wire holding the plastic caps tends to stretch, causing the caps to fall off. If you lose caps, the connections will corrode. They work well and allow you to conveniently disconnect power from the trolling motor. However, I would suggest either never separating them or making sure you apply dialect grease liberally to them to avoid corrosion. I use them on a 24v 80# thrust Motorguideโ€ฆ

Works, I will buy again.

Plugs connect easily. You have to be careful of the polarity when connecting, but the large red and black wires give a clue. The stop on the end of the metal wires attaching the lid to the block keeps popping out (I bought 9 of these for a project and this happens to all of them. Maybe a little crimping will fix this. Heat shrink butt plugs have proved useless to connect to anything other than 8 gauge wires so I cut them off to connect with 8-6 AWG wire I won't say we used Minn-Kota connectorsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Good connection but flaws

I really liked the idea and versatility of these connectors. I liked the fact that they could be surface mounted or flush mounted. They connect well to each other and I'm not worried about the connection. That being said, there are some flaws that prevent them from being a great product. โ€ข The shrink tubing on the connector had a hole from the crimping process, nothing more useless than a hole heat shrink tubing. โ€ข Interconnects. falls out of the flush mount too easily. It should click intoโ€ฆ

My new favorite plug!

I have tried many connectors lately from Anderson Powerpole to Marinco 3 blade swivel male/female, Noco Genius 2 pin connector and of course the popular 2 pin SAE spade connector (which seems No two vendors produce identical and fully compatible versions). What I was looking for was a durable connector for use between solar panels and "solar generators" (a fancy term for portable battery packs). I needed something that would protect the hot wire from accidental contact, be weatherproof, haveโ€ฆ
