Compared to my previous center punches, this one is a bit inferior, but still suitable for occasional use. It's significantly longer than my others, making it difficult to fit into tight spaces. It also doesn't have a particularly strong action, only hitting at the very end of a relatively hard turn. Therefore it is big, weak and heavy. But in general it works. I use them to lay out plastic/fiber faced plywood rail signal control terminal blocks and you really need to punch 2 or 3 times to impress. Which doesn't sound too bad until you realize that I punch holes to make dozens and sometimes hundreds of holes and a more efficient tool would be far less boring. The only benefit of the large size is that it's easier to grab. The fact that you get two is a bonus, and they're inexpensive, which is something to consider with a tool that ends up being lost. The suitcase is nice but useless if I can't reuse it. I would have liked a harder/sharper tip with a stronger action than the body.
