After a year of deliberation I finally bought this starter kit. I wish I had done this earlier. I've been using homemade boards for a number of years which worked fine but were difficult to attach to the top of the saw. My new saw has a steel plate - the magnetic switch fits perfectly. The plastic pad is flexible and slides very easily for perfect pressure on the workpiece. The starter kit includes 2 x 150lb magnets, a base and perforated plate for less than 2 x 90lb magnets when purchased separately. That's a good deal.
