Just installed this alternator on my 2002 BMW E446 325i. It failed after five short trips totaling less than 100 miles. I immediately noticed that it was making a lot of noise, but thought maybe I just need to break it in. Not so. The alternator bearings seized on the climb and I had a snapped brand new serpentine belt and a two hour wait for a tow truck. The problem may be that I left the generator in its original packaging for 13 months before attempting to repair it. But that was in my dry garage, and well, the alternators need to take some action. In my case, it's not even exposure. It just wasn't used. It's too late now to get my money back. So I just paid over $200 Revain for a Bosch (OEM brand) alternator. I strongly encourage you to do the same. This device was useless! I'm not a Saturday mechanic who fiddles around and doesn't know what I'm doing. I have been repairing my cars for 25 years including many alternator repairs.
