Review on πŸ”’ Dorman 746-162 Door Lock Actuator Motor: Ideal Replacement for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury Models by Nick Narvasa

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works after some modifications on a 2002 Ford Explorer Limited

The first coupler is simple, My girlfriend surprised me with this and when she first bought car parts she didn't know that there are usually different ones Parts left and right of the vehicle and it doesn't say that anywhere on the page. So I had to buy 2 more but it worked fine and now I have 1 spare for each side. strong enough, the actuator fell into the door while driving, leaving my truck door unlocked with a firearm and expensive camping gear inside. I almost went white when I realized this. So I had to go back and do it all over again and seal the lock with epoxy. I don't think it will fall out now. After all this I have 4 brand new and very strong sounding locks on my 2002 Ford Explorer and am happy with the end result. Despite what feels like very cheap plastic and a lot cheaper workmanship than the originals, I firmly believe in them and since buying the car a few months ago I've finally been able to stop checking the doors every time I park for the first time.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
