I am intentionally postponing review of this product until I have driven it a few miles. I wanted to see how long the battery lasts as the product ages. I drive every morning at 4:30am 2.5 hours before work (Napa Hills area, no streetlights). When I first received the product, it was great! 2.5 hours on high beam were no problem. Now the autumn season has arrived and the nights are getting longer. I always charge my battery the night before a trip just to make sure I have enough energy to get home safe and sound. Since last week I've noticed that I've lost the 3rd charge indicator about half an hour into a ride. When that happens, I immediately turn it down to a lower lighting setting (which, by the way, isn't bright enough is annoying). Well this morning after 1.5 hours of my trip (about 6am according to my Garmin 520) the 2nd band went out. It's STILL BLACK. I said ok I might have to use flash mode. I did this (which isn't ideal when it's still very dark) and suddenly the lights went out completely. I stopped and tried turning it back on but the battery was completely dead. Needless to say, I had to turn around and SLOWLY make my way home in complete darkness. I have bright taillights but I can't see where I'm going! I used my iPhone to light up the road to at least see the road markings. This is the first time I've had a headlight die, not a fun feeling. I am very disappointed in this product. Not only did it not work as advertised, I felt like I had compromised my safety by using this product. (I could go down the mountain at high speed!). Other. Brackets have to go.
