Review on Efficiently Trim Cases with LEE PRECISION Quick Trim Case Trimmer by Brandon Micali

Excellent Trimmer - Airsoft

This is an amazing all-brass trimmer. I use it on a Lee 4-hole turret press. I installed a 4-hole turret head with a full size adjuster and trimmer. I can go through brass relatively quickly (150+ an hour in most situations). I find that using high volume box lube is necessary to keep the trimmer running smoothly. I have to clean the trimmer with some compressed air about every hour. The length of cut is consistent, but as with any handloading gear, you have to find the technique or "feel" that works for you. I can adjust the length of cut with a click ring just below the handle on top of the device that controls the depth of cut. The hand crank and trimmer are spring loaded so you push on them as you turn the crank. You should also apply light pressure to the press handle to ensure the sleeve is firmly seated in the milling die. Each caliber should have its own trim matrix. The matrices are not expensive at all, and so is the trimmer. I find that not even having to trim the brass (to put it on a drill press or other cutting device) saves a lot of time, especially on a turret press. I have cut 1000 .223's and have been happy with the length consistency (within hundredths of an inch) and have not had to change blades yet. I keep reserves. With Lee, it doesn't cost that much, so it's easy to stock up on spares. I believe Lee products have stood up to many tests while other more expensive brands have fallen apart doing the same or similar work.
