I bought this router as an upgrade for my R7000. I have a lot of devices thanks to home automation and I encountered limitations with the R7000, for example you can reserve a maximum of 64 IP addresses. Started setting up AC4000 and ran into very buggy firmware. After entering the first 55 reservations, IP Genie stopped showing all subsequent entries (it allowed you to add them, you just don't see them afterwards, which is weird). I contacted Netgear support, they had no idea what was going on but suggested I do a firmware flash etc. I asked to speak to a senior engineer because to be honest I don't want to jump down a rabbit hole going after a problem caused by poor quality control of their buggy firmware. I was told they would call me back within 24 hours. It was 10 days ago. I've contacted support over the internet and haven't received a response yet. So I send it back and Netgear is done. I've spent far too many hours on support calls over the past few years, mostly related to firmware bugs that are rarely fixed. They seem to be in a hurry to get new products on the shelves but don't even take the time to do their quality control.
