2.4g disconnects - no more problem **UPDATED 9/3/18, 9/18/18**

I really like this product. I've spent a lot of time researching the AC4000 and AC5300 routers and found that this model's features, specs, and price point are perfect for my needs. It also has solid professional reviews. But I had reservations based on user feedback, particularly regarding repeated disconnects that required periodic router reboots. However, I took the knowledge and risk and bought hoping that the connection issues would be fixed in the latest firmware or that I would be lucky…

When it works, it works well. Unfortunately I have to restart the damn thing about every 36-48 hours because it breaks the connection to the DSL router. At first I thought it was just a DSL router that failed, but based on numerous one star reviews I'm now pretty sure (after several hours of diagnosing, testing and troubleshooting) this product is a piece of junk. DO NOT BUY! UPDATE (04/02/2018) - NetGear replied to my email and called me. Offered a firmware update. I'm still testing it, but so

Read the reviews, they don't lie!

My security camera installer recommended this router to power my smart home as my charter router wasn't strong enough to even maintain the signal. He said he's had the previous design of it for three years and loves the performance. I've read reviews on Revain and the Netgear support site and they all complained about router performance, mostly internet outages requiring a reboot to start streaming again. I took a chance and ordered it. Within 24 hours of connecting we left the house to receive

Glitchy firmware and missing support

I bought this router as an upgrade for my R7000. I have a lot of devices thanks to home automation and I encountered limitations with the R7000, for example you can reserve a maximum of 64 IP addresses. Started setting up AC4000 and ran into very buggy firmware. After entering the first 55 reservations, IP Genie stopped showing all subsequent entries (it allowed you to add them, you just don't see them afterwards, which is weird). I contacted Netgear support, they had no idea what was going on…
