Review on NETGEAR Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Tri-band WiFi Router: Fast Speeds, Alexa Compatible by John Martin

When it works, it works well. Unfortunately I have to restart the damn thing about every 36-48 hours because it breaks the connection to the DSL router. At first I thought it was just a DSL router that failed, but based on numerous one star reviews I'm now pretty sure (after several hours of diagnosing, testing and troubleshooting) this product is a piece of junk. DO NOT BUY! UPDATE (04/02/2018) - NetGear replied to my email and called me. Offered a firmware update. I'm still testing it, but so far it seems more stable. So I'm increasing my rating from 1 star to 3 just because they made an effort to make it right for me. If my test is successful I will come back and provide another update. UPDATE 04/15/2018. Well, after extensive testing, I found that the problem persists. About every 24-48 hours I have to restart the Nighthawk R8000P. I have experienced this behavior with 2 different DSL routers and every Wi-Fi enabled device in the house including: iMac, Lenovo laptop running Windows 10, Dell laptop running Windows 7, iPad, iPhone, Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Fire HD . The router loses connection to the DSL that is directly connected to it. Given the large number of other users who have reported the same behavior in Revain customer reviews, I am more convinced than ever that this product is a lemon. I downgraded my rating to 1 star.
