I managed to use this tarp as a shelter only once downwind. The wind was probably 10 miles an hour. When tied up very well, not too tight and not too loose, I used poles to cover the tent and that tarp tore to shreds almost immediately. It barely lasted half a day on the trek before I had to heavily modify it with Gorilla Tape. Gorilla Tape is great for grommets and corners. The tarpaulin grommets burst almost immediately, the edges ripped off at the first gust of wind, and even the corner grommets flew loose when the wind picked up about 10 mph. I will never buy again.
