These are great, they work with liquid paint, diluted paint and ink or just water to smudge/draw watercolor pencils on thick paper, canvas or fabric. You can reuse pipes and just get more feathers. Just use the back of a utility knife/knife or something thin and flat. Wed the spring case out of the tube instead of cutting it out. Smaller markers have a ball bearing inside, they stay in the tube. There the goal is to mix and break up the color. Then reassemble and press the paper towel a few times to make the ink flow.
