I needed a 4.5mm hook and took the time to replace many of my hooks with ergonomic ones. I love all the extras that come with the kit like scissors, needles and stitch holders. I also really like Casey. Everything is nice and neat in it. I prefer a book case over pencil cases because you'll find the hook you're looking for much faster when it's in the designated area than if you're floating around in a bag with all your other hooks. Some other reviews said the writing on the ergonomic hooks was smudged, which they were, but I noticed that when I flip them over, the dimensions are printed on the rubber (I've photographed two of them). I took some clear nail polish and applied it over the black ink and so far it has worked to prevent it from rubbing off completely. The ergonomic hooks are a bit shorter than regular full metal hooks but they still fit my hand and I don't find them uncomfortable, it was just an adjustment to the smaller size. The thread slides easily off the hook without snagging. So far I like them a lot and I usually prefer Susan Bates hooks. They are great for someone who is just starting out and needs a little bit of everything, or even someone who has been crocheting for a while and wants a new set of crochet hooks.
