The main reason I bought this was to sharpen my basic kitchen knives. I didn't know much about sharpening so I watched some YouTube videos and bought a sharpening stone. I found that it would take me (I'm clumsy) some time to learn how to use a sharpening stone properly. The biggest issue was angle and consistency. This product completely solves these problems for me. I don't have to or want to be a knife sharpening expert. I don't have many good knives. But I want the ones I have to be nice and sharp. This product makes it easy to find the right angle. The instruction video is clear and it is obvious that this product can be used for more than just kitchen knives. I was intrigued by the idea of sharpening scissors and have tried it with only moderate success, but I initially had dirty scissors and am thinking of scissors as disposable items that I buy at the stationery store. Scissors usually break before they become blunt. In addition to kitchen knives, I have also had good success with the Swiss Army Knife and Leatherworker.
