Our old portable air compressor/tire pump stopped working so we needed a new one. It says "smart pump" on the box and it really is! Cordless and portable, this electric air pump comes with a 2500mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can be charged with the included USB cable. Please note that there is no power adapter to plug into an outlet, but fortunately we have several spare power adapters. What's nice is that the LED display has a battery level indicator that shows full (F) or empty (E). If the letter "E" is flashing, it means the battery is low and needs to be charged. Do not use the device while charging! This air compressor is easy to use and operate by simply turning it on by pressing the power button until the LED indicator lights up. It will turn off automatically if left unused for more than three (3) minutes, which is very convenient as it saves battery life. The pressure value can be increased or decreased by pressing the plus or minus button. To start inflation, press the "M" button and press again to stop. When the air pressure reaches the set value, the pump will stop automatically. This pump comes with the following four (4) different valve adapters and a needle, making it versatile: - Multi-function valve: used for airbags, inflatable boats and balloons - American valve: used for mountain bikes, electric bikes, motorcycles and cars - French valve Valve adapter: Used for road bike or mountain bike. Air Needle: Used for soccer ball, basketball, soccer ball and other balls. What I like about this electric air compressor compared to our old one is that it has five (5) pressure settings that can be selected by pressing the power button and cycling. On the left side of the LED display is a small icon showing the following modes and their use: - Bike: 45psi by default. 1.8-3.0 bar - Vehicle: Standard 2.5 bar and adjustable from 1.8-3.5 bar - Ball: Standard 8 psi and adjustable from 4-16 psi sq. on the minus button and toggles between psi and bar. The value and unit are saved from last use. All in all, this is a very smart and stylish air compressor and tire inflator. Its body is made of high quality aluminum alloy, not plastic, so it is very durable and wear-resistant. Because of this, this air pump weighs about 2 pounds, which is a bit heavy for something portable. As an extra precaution, the air pump will automatically stop when it reaches a certain temperature to prevent overheating and the LED display will show E23. The air pump will also stop automatically after 18 minutes of continuous use and display E25. When these errors occur, the air compressor needs to be restarted.
