Review on Philips 272E1CA Frameless Adaptive Sync Replacement Monitor: 🖥️ Full HD, Tilt Adjustment, Built-In Speakers, Curved LED Display by David Mundt

I am using this 4K curved monitor with my Mac Mini and I love it. To get 60Hz at 4K with a Mac Mini, you need the right cable. I'm using a $15 Thunderbolt/USB-C to DisplayPort cable and it works great. I assume you only get 30Hz at 4K with HDMI. Another thing that took me a few days to figure out is that some apps/games cause the screen to flicker heavily. No panic! You just need to change the color profile. Go to the display settings and select sRGB or P3 or Adobe RGB or another profile and you'll find a profile that doesn't flicker. I use the same profile 99% of the time and then change it for one or two weird apps that are causing the problem. I really don't think it's a monitor issue. I think it's a graphics driver issue with the mini. In any case, the fix only takes 10 seconds and always works. By the way, the default text will be small. If I set the resolution to "Scaled" and then select the 3008x1692 option, the text and UI elements are scaled to be readable, but the rest of the screen is still 4K resolution. I didn't believe it at first, but it's true. I didn't want to scale anything because I figured it would work like windows where the entire screen is scaled and you lose clarity. On Mac OS, scaling only affects the user interface. All app window content is still 4K. I've been using this monitor for about 4 months now and after all of the above it works great. However, the curved thing takes some getting used to. i really like it now
