Review on ๐ŸŒŠ Digital Water Tester for TDS and pH Measurement by Justin Herman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Do not rely on a pH meter

Made very cheaply. The TDS meter is good - as far as I can tell, it does a good job of measuring the *relative* amount of dissolved salts in a solution. Perfect/exact every time - no. Of course he does a decent job. A pH meter, on the other hand, is absolutely NOT calibrated. Don't expect a pH meter to be within 2 pH units when you buy it. You have to calibrate it and I have to admit that it's difficult and you only get one chance to do it with the materials provided. Even after you calibrate it, it's still out of order and very unstable. not less than 0.5 pH units. Personally, I wouldn't trust confidence beyond +/- 1 pH unit, and that's after calibration and after averaging 3 readings. The upside of this thing is that it's portable, but the more you squeeze it the less accurate it gets, and you have to store it upright, which isn't great. When you need to make sure something isn't too acidic or crazy alkaline, a pH meter is a must. but also litmus paper. In short, the TDS meter is pretty good. No pH meter.

Pros
  • TDS Meter Function: NSF International has stated that a TDS meter is not required. However, it can certify the presence of excessive pollutants such as heavy metals.
