I needed these adapters to install 6 1/2" round speakers in the front door of a car where 4x4s used to be. The fit was perfect and the pre-drilled holes were there. It's made out of semi-rigid plastic what greatly facilitates the necessary trimming, but the instructions also state not to over tighten the screws.I used silicone sealant between the adapter and the door, and between the speaker and the adapter to ensure a good seal with no rattle and added security to ensure the speaker doesn't come loose, I highly recommend them when replacing smaller speakers with larger ones.
