Review on CRAFTSMAN Mitre Adjustable Angle CMHT20800 by Bishnu Bush

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Comfortable but flimsy with mediocre build quality. Error in attaching the saw guide.

I still use many of the Sears Craftsman tools I bought over 40 years ago. Don't let the name of this product fool you: it's a flimsy piece of "imported" junk that barely serves its purpose - nothing like the real thing. The plastic saw guides wobble and rest on four round bars, a base with square nuts that secure the bars with socket head screws. They will weaken after some use and then fall out. I soon lost three of them. Of course, these are not standard elements. Luckily I replaced them with standard hex nuts and mounting screws that fit the slot. They hold the bars securely and do not weaken. I'm not sure of the exact limit, but I couldn't work a 6" wide board with this tool, so it's limited to smaller sizes. Also, you cannot clamp a piece shorter than 2 inches for miter cutting.
