Review on ORCISH 4500LBS Electric Steel Cable ATV Winch Kits with Wireless Remote Control and Mounting Bracket for Towing ATV/UTV Off Road Trailer (4500 Steel Cable H) by Charles Quinones

Nice winch but needs some upgrades

The winch itself is fine. Although there are a few things I had to change. First, the bolts holding the winch weren't long enough to hold the unit in place. So I had to take longer ones. The cables are too short for a UTV like mine, the Kawasaki Mule Pro MX LE. In addition, they are too light for the current winch pull. They look like wire #10. I replaced them all with wire #4. I had to buy 10 new end connectors, a crimping hammer, etc. I also put a toggle switch in a 12 volt remote sensor with a red wire. Just a SPST switch. Thus, the remote sensor does not always draw a small amount of current from the battery. Replaced both batteries in both remote controls. I checked the distance and they were still working at 75 feet. I haven't checked the distance again, but they work great. I also bought higher quality terminal covers. Others would work but not very sturdy or strong. Here they are: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NBDM76X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also bought a fuse box to be safe when running the heavy cable from the battery , before it comes out to the solenoid. It's: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MYGIR2C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And I've fused it for 200 amps so far. I think this will do, but use larger fuses if necessary. Again, I've made some updates to make it better and more secure. I also connected the positive red lead to the winch rudder control. (Actually I bought a better winch control switch on the dash). I recommend this winch and thought an honest review might be helpful to others.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Expensive
