Review on πŸ“Ά Asus USB-AC56 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Adapter with Wireless-AC1300 and USB 3.0 Connectivity by Matt Heringer

You are better than this ASUS.

Let me first say that I'm an ASUS fan, especially when it comes to motherboards. However, I am very disappointed with this. I bought an ASUS AC Nighthawk router to keep Cat6 from running through my attic. I have 100 Mbit/s input and 15 Mbit/s input. That being said, can I maximize and even overdo my speed on an Ethernet line (you're an ISP!) on an air conditioner's wireless connection 10 feet from my router? Not even 50Mbps. YES, it is connected to USB 3.0, so the speed should be up to 480 Mbps. I'm almost faster on my old N connection. The only thing that should limit me is my connection speed and I know my ISP is reliable!) Not to mention the EMI shielding which is TERRIBLE (i.e. absent) in this piece. This thing is so electrically loud it's unrealistic. There are speakers about a foot away on the table that pick up noise every time I start a reasonably sized download or upload. Lesson learned: Use ethernet and USB wireless adapters suck. DON'T PROMISE ANY PERFORMANCE YOU CAN'T DELIVER WITH ASUS! (Yes, I understand the theoretical maximum isn't possible due to TCP/UDP overhead, but <50% of my connection bandwidth.) Finally. During this test, no microwaves were on and I was on a free Wi-Fi channel: no neighbors 5ghtz :D
