THE ONLY ONE WITH A RELIABLE SOCK GAUGE

I have recently returned to knitting after not knitting for a number of years and when choosing a pair of socks 4 years ago I found that they were quite loose that my Addi Turbo #2 that I bought from LYS a few years ago was actually closer to #2.5. I did a little research and found that European needle manufacturers are metric and actually offer in-between sizes for sock needles, which makes sense because when needles are this small, a fraction of a millimeter can make a huge difference in fit. So I figured I'd have to buy a selection of sock pins, which I did, but I wanted a size, which actually contains those half sizes so I can tell which needles are which without their packaging. I've looked at many stitch counts and this turned out to be the only one that was clearly labeled with half sizes and has a magnifying glass for counting stitch counts, which unfortunately I find useful now that I'm getting back to knitting with older eyeballs. Also, the plastic in my bag doesn't bend like my old Susan Bates bag did. I'm really surprised that more companies don't offer these half sizes, and it really annoys me that some retailers just round half sizes up or down. I'm posting a photo comparing Knitter's Pride's scale to Susan Bates' scale so you can see what's missing. Also, I've tested the thing on different sock needles and it's perfect. My other size allows for a slight gap on some sizes, making you wonder if it's a pin or a size. This size fits my Clover and Addi needles exactly. It's really nice to have the right tool for the job, buy one if you ever think about making socks. (PS, socks are not stiff, just use 9-12" circular needles! No magic loop technique required!)
