The bars scratch too easily. plastic tips.
Be very careful when inserting the pole into the brackets. If you move it to center the bar you will most likely scratch the bar. I was also very disappointed to find that the tips are plastic. I was hoping they would be metal too. The thickness of the poles makes them very strong. I've replaced the much thinner bars with these in two rooms and am generally happy with the upgrade, but the quality control of the braces needs improvement so they don't have burrs that scratch the bars, and the metal tips make this product more grippable. upscale.
