Review on Arrow Fastener MT300 Mini Glue by Tim Ram

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for Beginners

I've only used the glue gun once and the results were disastrous. I prefer the security of nails and staples. Unfortunately, gluing was really the only option for my latest project, a 36" mirror frame. I wouldn't put hundreds of shells on this big frame, but I definitely wouldn't pay a few hundred. Dollars for the ones I've seen on ebay My husband has this Arrow MT300 Mini Glue Gun and http://smile.amazon.com/ Arrow Fastener MG24-4 4" Universal Mini Glue Sticks (pack of 24) im Home Depot and I have them to say I'm impressed with how easy it was. And most importantly, it created an extremely strong bond. The shells are by no means heavy, but some are large (4 inches) and only the narrow edges are glued. For example: I had most of the shells I needed collected while on vacation. But I wanted to add a few larger ones, so I ordered them from Revain Harold Imports S/4 Natural 4" Baking Shells and they weigh 4 or 5 ounces each. Instead of attaching them inside out, I laid them that way (indicating they are only glued on the thin edge as in the picture. i've had the frame upright for a few days now and nothing has fallen off. and they just all fell off? no, it's not falling off.) also i have Used silk rope and plastic beads to trim the edge of the frame and while the glue was hot it wasn't hot enough to melt or deform them, I managed to burn myself a few times with glue (some of these Projectiles are tiny) but never hard enough to blister. Although it hurt and I certainly wouldn't let a child use it. The gun was easy to use. I was afraid my hands would get cramps from constant use n would, but the trigger is light and the size of the gun is perfect for my hand, use the built in stand except to see if it works - it worked but since I was working around a large table I attached a heavy duty extension cord , which would tear the gun out if I tried to put it in. I'm concerned I was able to create exactly what I wanted with this little gem for a total of $75 including a large mirror. I love it.
