The childproof gas bottle outlet was a good idea. The implementation involved, apparently, idiots. It seems that every modern gas canister overflows about three times before the childproof lock breaks. I poured gas without a spout, poured it all over the place, etc. So the protective device had exactly the opposite effect - good, very, very bad engineers. cheaper than a new gas canister (I tested them) and makes my idiot gas canisters just as useful as a 20 year old. It doesn't stop my kids from eating gas, but I have to put up with it. Typically these days, me and the kids prefer good old afternoon booze to the sweet, sweet taste of 87 octane lawn mower gas.
