Review on πŸ“Ά Enhanced NETGEAR Orbi Whole Home Tri-band Mesh WiFi 6 System (RBK852) – Router with 1 Satellite Extender, Expansive Coverage up to 5,000 sq. ft., Connects 100 Devices, AX6000 (Up to 6Gbps) by Jose Guzman

Totally buggy, good Wifi 6 performance when it works but it's not a finished product.

Update: After the return I bought a Ubiquiti Amplifi Alien Wifi 6 mesh router and an additional mesh module. Ubiquiti's product is excellent in every way, giving the user a product experience that looks like someone actually tested it before showing it to customers. The equipment is better worked out (massive impression, integrated power supply unit instead of wall warts, matte rubberized surface). Wi-Fi 6 network performance is better, especially as the distance from a single router increases. The user interface is much better. it's fast, responsive and does what it's supposed to do. Adding a grid point is trivial, and thanks to the front-facing display, you won't be confused by flashing colored lights that don't match what Netgear says it should. Ubiquiti instantly and correctly configures the second device as a mesh point, and you can switch it to an Ethernet backhaul with a single tap. Updating is easier and you can see what it's doing in the process. Literally everything about it is superior to the Orbi. Spend extra money on Ubiquiti Amplifi Alien. The Wifi 6 Orbi Mesh system performs decently when it works, but the control interface is very slow, poorly implemented, and device behavior is very buggy. From the use it can be seen that the firmware has been deliberately saved on features compared to the AC Orbi Business Edition. I installed this to replace my existing AC grid setup, no static devices were moved and the Orbi hotspots were set up in the same places. I have a previous generation Orbi "Business" AC installation elsewhere and it works fine, so this review is for the new Wifi 6 model only. Some examples: 1. The broadcast name for the network may change not, although it shows a change in the UI.2. Status indicators (particularly for satellites) may not change the correct color or status, which can be confusing.3. There is no HTTPS option to access the management interface.4. Devices are randomly disconnected from the wireless network from time to time.5. Devices randomly fail to authenticate to the network for a while. and they can then authenticate even though they haven't changed their Orbi settings or SSID/password.6. Ethernet backhaul does not work properly in router or access point mode.7. The 2.5 Gigabit interface cannot be used in AP mode.
