Review on Dr. Prepare Projection Alarm Clock - Indoor Outdoor Temperature Display, Dual Alarms, Multi-Colored Backlight, Weather Forecast by Joshua Pilla

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Slightly out of focus and too bright

Although this projector system is easier to set up than other models, it doesn't have a focus function and displays numbers on the ceiling with a red circle around them (unlike other models). They also only pay for positive reviews (which is against Revain policies). They offered an unconditional $10 discount coupon, but as soon as I emailed them, they insisted that I post a positive review before redeeming it. Not cool. So beware of positive reviews about this product. Update: No, they didn't send me a $10 coupon. Another reason to discredit the "positive" reviews of this product. After a few nights we found the clock/projector acceptable and the display more legible than other models we've owned over the years (they don't seem to last very long though). I would basically return it as it leaves a bad taste in the mouth but it works and I still have a few weeks return policy. The seller contacted me several times (once he apologized for the "taste" of the device). They offer to adjust the projection brightness using the controls on the watch. I admit that this option is missing during the initial installation, but I have trying it this morning There are two settings: 1) Bright enough to compete with Broadway signs 2) So dark it's impossible to read So yes they've considered this issue but they have a 1- Created bit binary switches instead of a 2 bit brightness selector I would have designed a schematic for them but I left the technology ten years ago.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
