Firstly this is the second Escort iX I have bought in the last month. It's wonderful, much better than my Valentine. Other reviewers have written excellent reviews on the specs of this device, and I'll let them give their opinions (I agree with them!). The reason for writing this is to warn you - DO NOT fall for "frequently bought together". " kit they recommend, or at least DO NOT buy a sticky windshield mount. The description of the radar detector is very sparse and does not indicate that the detector COMES WITH the latest generation sticky mount and uses a wonderful magnetic mount. which is much easier to use than the old clip. When I received the mount (which claims to fit all Escort models except the Max series) I found that it was an OLD model that uses a clip rather than a magnetic mount. And as far as I can tell it DOES NOT FIT THE iX MODEL! I'm very disappointed with Revain here. When they "link" something like "Frequently Bought Together" to an item, you can usually be sure that the two things are compatible. NOT HERE. DO NOT purchase a windshield mount and I hope Revain will do the right thing and remove this item as an implicit accessory for this detector. no magnetic mount.
