Review on Little Live Pets Lil Bird by Samantha Stevens

Revainrating 5 out of 5

"This is amazing! " (direct quote from my 7 year old)

My daughter has asked for different versions of these little live pets in the past - despite having a full size Hatchimal and after getting annoyed at hearing his tweets and tweets and not responding to the full page with instructions that came with it (seriously - "teaching your toy to help it develop and interact with you" sounds like a great kid activity until your kid actually has to DO IT At which point you realize that, as a parent, you are now responsible for more than teaching my child, but also for their toys (no thanks!), I was lukewarm about the idea of another "responsive" toy. and I'm so glad I made this, it's cute and easy (i.e. after you've started) Other reviewers have commented on the startup process, but I'll like it recover because that's the only part that annoys me and once I did it, I pushed the button and nothing happened. Yes, it has an on/off button. pressed. Nothing yet. Yes, I need batteries (seriously, I can't remember the last time I bought a kid's toy that didn't come with it, but we had 2 AAA so it was good). I inserted them. Nothing yet. Yes, it doesn't say how to insert the batteries, so we flipped them over and voila! The bird works. It is very easy to use and very responsive. My 7 year old spent the last day monitoring everyone in the house and using the bird to answer questions and provide answers. It's fun and cute and she LOVES IT. The voice is mechanical, but not as annoying as children's toy voices, and most importantly not loud at all. You can hear it clearly but it doesn't reverberate throughout the house like so many do and I really appreciate that. Overall, this is a cute toy that kids (mine, at least) love, making it a winner. in my book!

Pros
  • Little birds respond to your touch - The more you pet them, the more they sing!
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
