Review on 🌈 Vibrant Stained Glass Waves: RED HEART Unforgettable Yarn by Jessica Lewis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice colors, not bad for the price.

I couldn't resist the beautiful flowers and started knitting the openwork shawl pattern as soon as it arrived. The colors are beautiful jewel tones, with a bit more raspberry and purple than the other colors. I personally would like a little more bright blue and maybe less green, but it's still pretty good. It is slightly shiny, silky and pleasant to the touch. I'm not a big fan of acrylic at all, but it seems a little better than your average cheap skein. Not so "squeaky" if that makes sense. Minor issues: I like gradual transitions and knitting and seeing what color comes next. until I was in the middle of the crimson part and pulling the knot out of the middle of the strand. The pink end was simply double knotted to the green part! Luckily the knot at the edge of the row has fallen off, but despite this there is now a sharp pink-green transition where the rest of the scarf has soft gradients. I broke twice too. I only gained a few inches and knitted it as the gap was in a thin spot (as you would expect). I found some thinner spots and some thicker pieces. I've seen this in expensive wool yarns with similar color transitions and it's less pronounced than, say, Noro, but it's something to be aware of. I also struggled with a few entanglements. Annoying but not bad. In general I like it. Not the best yarn but nice and the price is nice!
