This is a terrible embodiment of a great idea. This only adds to the frustration of your project.

Apparently the manufacturer has never used this product. The concept is great. This version of the concept is terribly wrong. First, an edge-mounted blade will only cause you trouble. The first thing you need to do is take a piece of paint or other tape and attach the plastic guard over the blade so it doesn't fall off when you try to unroll the piece. When the blade is open, it constantly tears through the plastic. Design Mistake #1. Just use scissors. Then the bar holding the tape in the dispenser needs to be removed so you can peel the tape off it so you can peel the wrapper/label off the tape. Then put it back in. If you attempt to cut the packaging while the tape is in the dispenser, you will most likely cut through the first layer or two of tape. Remove the packaging and place the tape back in the dispenser. Once the tape is unwound, the rolled plastic will stick to the tape strip. Design flaw #2. The rolled plastic is right on the edge of the strap. There is no gap to prevent accidental sticking from tape to tape. The only way to avoid this was to have a second person run their finger over the tape while unrolling to unroll the first layer of plastic and peel it off the tape. Strip of tape at top. You spend most of the time and effort peeling the plastic off the tape. It also makes it impossible to attach long strips of plastic. They do 2-foot pieces at a time. The strip of tape attached to the plastic is just over 1/2 inch wide. Design flaw #3. It barely holds on to anything you attach it to and will come loose if you accidentally touch it, walk past it, or if it's exposed to even the slightest breeze. We ended up having to use wide masking tape to reinforce the entire length of each piece we attached. In the end, like us, you will find that it would be better to use plastic and glue it yourself. I would pay money to see a video of the company boss trying to use it. At least one cheap product, right?
