Good for kids to learn how to balance on a bike

This balance bike was very easy to put together. All necessary tools are included. Although only a hex wrench was needed, tools were included to tighten the wheels if needed. The fully assembled bike looks solid and shouldn't be a weight issue. The wheels are made of EVA foam, which I consider a minus point. EVA foam is found on the bottom of cheaper snowboard boots. I'm sure this was done to keep the bike's price down. I think rubber wheels would be safer and less prone to slipping. However, this bike is designed for toddlers who are learning to balance on a bike, so they should not ride fast or go down steep slopes. Once you see that your child can roll without dropping their feet, they should be ready for a pedal bike. Forget wheels. Wheels like this are the way to go. A balance bike is one of the two best ways to learn balance. Another option is on a scooter (Razor or similar). If you can afford both, I would because you never know what day a kid might want to ride. On each of them, your child will learn to balance independently and at their own pace. My son was four years old and had been riding a scooter for several months when I noticed that he was coasting without putting his feet off. I put him on a pedal bike and he was able to ride straight away (he already knew how to ride a tricycle). I got this balance bike because now it's my grandson's turn to learn it.
