There are very few wooden surfaces this thing won't work on. In fact, even if you have lighter wood this will work. It fills in scratches so well - I even use it in some spots on hardwood floors. I have medium colored hardwood floors but I use it under the sofa legs from time to time and it completely hides those scratches like they never happened. If that doesn't work, try placing it on a tissue and pressing firmly, rubbing in both a clockwise and counterclockwise circular motion. Then up and down and side to side. You want to get every edge of the inside of the scratch in every possible direction for best results. I believe this only works with natural wood or cork boards. But it doesn't work on plastic surfaces. Works wonders and should not be missing in any home with well-kept wooden surfaces. I just bought a new dark wood table and 4 days after bringing it home I scratched it. I was devastated. But he brought out the well-known Old English and it's gone. I have no relationship with the seller. I'm just one woman who was so happy to have her desk fixed that she searched Amazon for a product only to review it because it's "so cool"!
