When I first connected this monitor to my computer I thought this is the most boring display I have ever seen. I wondered what was wrong with him. The whites were beige. The black was dark gray and difficult to read due to the lack of contrast. I'm struggling with the controls, which are buttons at the bottom. I turned up the brightness, played with the contrast and couldn't get a satisfactory result. I even fiddled with the GPU brightness settings to no avail. Eventually I realized it was "Eye Protection Mode". When I turned it off, suddenly everything was great! I like the look of 4K. Everything is sharp and colors are accurate, both at the edges and in the center. I don't like clumsy controls.
