I started with one of these airbrush kits with pump and Master G22 airbrush. I found that the needle on this airbrush was so small that I had to dilute the paint to a water-like consistency in order for it to fire. With the cheap craft paints you get at Wally-World when you dilute them that much there is almost no pigment per volume and it's more like a wash and I sprayed a dozen coats to get an opaque finish. With THIS airbrush and a YUGE 0.8mm tip I can spray much thicker paint so I paint in 1 or 2 coats depending on the colour. Of course, you don't get the precise control you would with a dual-action airbrush, but it's great for wide coverage.
