I bought this to repair my Sears C3 air pump hose and also bought a CTA Tools 1930 Straight Lock-On Air Chuck. It fits perfectly in the hose. It needs to be clamped down with hose or I used zip ties to secure it. Too bad I didn't follow the earlier review's recommendation of 3/16" and bought a size larger than the 1/4" plug to get a tighter fit. To join both brass pieces I used double wrap tape to stop the air leaking Use a lighter to gently melt the nylon webbing after cutting to prevent fraying of the nylon webbing covering the hose Be careful not to release the compressed air remaining in the hose by pressing the metal against the air liner.
