Versatility of iron without the weight

CorningWare® French White 3.2QT Cast Aluminum Roaster with Lid**Update: Don't use anything metal with this, like to stir or cut anything. The coating on the inside of the pot is quite thin and chips very easily. I've got some big gouges in the bottom of my pan and chips around the beveled edge that seats the lid after two uses. You need to treat this like a non-stick pan to avoid damaging it, apparently. **I have a Dutch oven that I adore because of its versatility, but it's so heavy - even empty - that I find myself avoiding it. I also worry about chipping the enamel. My CorningWare ceramic pieces are easier to handle, but still fairly heavy when empty. This CorningWare roaster is a good alternative to both! It's quite light and easy to handle even when full. It can go directly from the stovetop to the oven to the table to the fridge or freezer. Its simple styling is appropriate in any kitchen or on any table. Non-stick interior is easy to clean. Actual handles that are easy to grip and not slippery like enameled or ceramic ones can be. The lid settles quite securely into the beveled lip in the pot, so there's no worry about it sliding around or not seating properly. Stainless steel handle and stainless steel rim on the lid and there is an etched starburst pattern and CorningWare logo on the lid. Hand washing recommended, but it says you can put it in the dishwasher. There is nothing in the manual to indicate maximum allowable oven temperature, but this can't go under the broiler. 1 year warranty. There were no dimensions in the listing, so I'll add them here: measured on the outside, the pot is 8.2" square at the bottom, 9.5" square at the top; 3.5" high. Measured on the inside, 7.5" square at the bottom and 3.2" high below the edge that holds the lid.My pot is well-finished with no uneven or rough spots. Heats evenly and cooks well on stovetop and in the oven. Love that you can brown things on the oven and then continue using the same pan to move into the oven. It's a great piece and would be especially useful for someone who can't (or doesn't want to) deal with the weight of cast iron.
