I didn't buy this item for an animal terrarium, but for brewing beer. I attached it to the inside of the mini fridge I currently use to ferment beer. This product, in combination with the STC-1000 temperature controller, is ideal for maintaining a stable beer fermentation temperature over a long period of time. It heats a 4.4 cu ft mini fridge from 58 degrees Fahrenheit to 68 degrees Fahrenheit in under half an hour and has more than enough power to keep that temperature within +/- 2 degrees Fahrenheit.
